While this country faces some of its toughest times with middle class shrinking, loss of standing in the world due to lack of leadership, Obamacare, the NSA, BLM, EPA, BATF, IRS and every other government agency encroaching and eroding Americans liberty, privacy, and rights. It is amazing to me that we have nothing better to do than to attack and sue paint companies for the offensive names of their paint, teams for utilization of their logos and religion for their celebrations of faith and more. Are you kidding me? This is a smoke screen and we are falling for it.
We need to stand up and stop this madness. Let’s start with team names. These names were chosen because they represented warriors to be honored and feared. These names represented the best of the best when it came to the endurance, strength and the warrior spirit: Braves, Indians, Redskins, Chiefs, Eskimos, Blackhawks, Redhawks, Mohawks and the list goes on. These names were NOT chosen as a derogatory term but to strike fear in the hearts of other teams. How ridiculous can you get?
Well let me tell you … Benjamin Moore paints is being sued for the name of their paints by an employee that they just fired. It appears that Clinton Tucker, 34, identified as African-American in a lawsuit filed in Essex County court in Newark, NJ claims Benjamin Moore’s “clinton brown” and “tucker chocolate” paint colors are references to his skin color and are “extremely racially insensitive”.
Paint names? Really? Well Mr. Moore seemed to have an issue with those names because combined they were his name even though Clinton Brown was a long existing color representative of a “chocolate bar” and the Tucker line (that’s right there are a few Tucker line colors) represent a color “… requested (in 1798) by St. George Tucker for his home facing Courthouse Green…” according to the Benjamin Moore paint description. Just for the record Mr. Tucker is also offended by Confederate Red.
According to all the news reports online:
Tucker claims he voiced his objections to the “appallingly racial color names” repeatedly, but no action was ever taken. Today both colors remain on the Benjamin Moore website, and Tucker is no longer with the company. He has also alleged that he was “denied opportunities for promotion and growth by BM due to his race” and that he was “wrongfully terminated,” while the company retained his “two white, blonde-haired and blue-eyed subordinates.” As reparations for all this paint-fueled prejudice, Tucker is seeking damages for discrimination, retaliation and a hostile work environment.
How much longer do we want to waste time, effort and tax dollars taking on this type of frivolous litigation? And let’s not forget the towns across America that have been forced to take down crosses, nativity scenes and other religious symbols because they are NOT on church or private property. Do you remember when we were kids and the town square or park or city hall always had the biggest and the brightest Nativity scene? Usually it was right next to a display for Hanukah and another with Santa Claus. And when war struck our country crosses representing the young soldiers lost in that town or county were erected so they would not be forgotten. This was a piece of American honor and community and what sets us apart from other countries. Our country is the only country in history to have defined itself as Judeo-Christian. America is also unique in that it has always combined secular government with a society based on religious values.
Dennis Prager wrote in 2004
But what does “Judeo-Christian” mean? We need to know. Along with the belief in liberty — as opposed to, for example, the European belief in equality, the Muslim belief in theocracy, and the Eastern belief in social conformity — Judeo-Christian values are what distinguish America from all other countries. That is why American coins feature these two messages: “In G-d we trust” and “Liberty.”
Yet, for all its importance and its repeated mention, the term is not widely understood. It urgently needs to be because it is under ferocious assault, and if we do not understand it, we will be unable to defend it. And if we cannot defend it, America will become as amoral as France, Germany, Russia, et al.
First, Judeo-Christian America has differed from Christian countries in Europe in at least two important ways. One is that the Christians who founded America saw themselves as heirs to the Hebrew Bible, as much as to theirs. And even more importantly, they strongly identified with the Jews.
So I ask, what is wrong with that? What has happened to change that?
Well, Wikipedia explains that “…in the early-to-mid 20th century the term “Politically Correct” was used by Communism and Socialism in political debates, referring to the Communist Party line (politics), which provided for “correct” positions on many matters of politics.”
Well that explains a lot doesn’t? To me political correctness is a tool utilized by politicians to manage what we say, when and where we can say it. Next stop Politically Correct thought…
Michael Snyder wrote last year about How Political Correctness Is Destroying America
If you say the “wrong thing” in America today, you could be penalized, fired or even taken to court. Political correctness is running rampant, and it is absolutely destroying this nation. In his novel 1984, George Orwell imagined a future world where speech was greatly restricted. He called that the language that the totalitarian state in his novel created “Newspeak”, and it bears a striking resemblance to the political correctness that we see in America right now. According to Wikipedia Newspeak is “a reduced language created by the totalitarian state as a tool to limit free thought, and concepts that pose a threat to the regime such as freedom, self-expression, individuality, peace, etc. Any form of thought alternative to the party’s construct is classified as “Thoughtcrime”.
Yes, people are not usually being hauled off to prison for what they are saying just yet, but we are heading down that path. Every single day, the mainstream media in the United States bombards us with subtle messages about what we should believe and what “appropriate speech” consists of. Most of the time, most Americans quietly fall in line with this unwritten speech code. In fact, most of the time we enforce this unwritten speech code among each other. Those that would dare to buck the system are finding out that the consequences can be rather severe.
Here are a few of the “… 19 shocking examples of how political correctness is destroying America…” that Michael Snyder talks about:
The Missouri State Fair has permanently banned a rodeo clown from performing just because he wore an Obama mask, and now all of the other rodeo clowns are being required to take sensitivity training.
Government workers in Seattle have been told that they should no longer use the words “citizen” and “brown bag” because they are potentially offensive.
A Florida police officer recently lost his job for calling Trayvon Martin a “thug” on Facebook.
In America today, there are many groups that are absolutely obsessed with eradicating every mention of God out of the public sphere. For example, an elementary school in North Carolina ordered a little six-year-old girl to remove the word from a poem that she wrote to honor her two grandfathers that had served in the Vietnam War.
A high school track team was disqualified earlier this year because one of the runners had made a gesture thanking God once he had crossed the finish line.
A Florida Atlantic University student that refused to stomp on the name of Jesus was banned from class
A student at Sonoma State University was ordered to take off a cross that she was wearing because someone “could be offended”.
It would be hard to overstate the power that all of this relentless “thought training” has on all of us. And young people are particularly susceptible to the power of suggestion…
It would be a huge mistake to underestimate the power of the mainstream media in America today… Americans watch an average of about 153 hours of television a month…And about 90 percent of what we watch on television is controlled by just six gigantic corporations.
But it’s not just about what we see on TV it comes from press releases given by the White House, it comes to our children in schools (indoctrination not education), and is truly agenda driven… according to Snyder the way most people see the world is shaped by the thousands of hours of “thought training” that we been receiving for years… But knowing and understanding what it happening is a good step in the right direction. There are still many of us that believe in this country. Political correctness, thought training and indoctrination are tools that we need to beware of. Use your own power of thought and faith; share with your children the REAL history of this country, and let your government officials know what you think of their political correctness.
